Those kids and their punk rock

Last night I went with my friend Ron to see his friend Nick play a show at a local Art space. It’s generally the case when you go to see a friend of a friend play an acoustic guitar at a tiny place in town, that it’s not going to be very good. He actually had some real talent and I enjoyed it a lot. We also stayed for the other two bands because, well, why not? There was a band from Oshawa called Corporate Life which wasn’t really my brand of punk these days, but they did their thing well. The headlining band was a band called Pseudo from Toronto who I enjoyed a lot. Since it was an art space, they also had a woman painting in the crowd while the bands played, which was an interesting commentary on inspiration and influence. Or it least it was for me. All that being said, my ears are ringing for the first morning in a long time.
So I’m still pushing through the big climactic confrontation at the end of the book. I’ve been making progress, but it’s not as fast as I’d like it to be. I’m getting so close to finishing, but I don’t want to rush it just to get there. I wish I had the time to take a few days off work and just spend like 6 hours a day writing. Oh to dream. okay, I’m going to throw on the kettle and get some tea, then put my head down and get stuff out.
